The ocean has had a lot of enivronmental problems due to human environment interaction. One big thing is pollution and it has affected the ocean negatively in many ways. Pollutants that have affected the waters are pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers, detergents, oil, sewage, plastics, and other solids. These pollutants are then eaten by the organisms in the oceans and that causes the food chain to get disrupted. Eventually some of these chemicals that these organisms have eaten end up in humans because of the fish that we eat. These toxic chemicals are sometimes far away form the coastlines but end up there because of them moving through local streams, rivers, and groundwater. Solid waste is also thrown into the ocean and eventually eaten since the marine animals think it's food. Noise pollution can also cause a negative effect on these animals. Loud and persistent sounds can damage communication, migration, hunting, and reproduction patterns of the animals.
